When you initially receive your shungite, rub it against the back of your hand it should leave a black residue mark, that's how you know it's real. After wearing or using it over a period of time, the residue naturally becomes absorbed with the oils of your skin. For a more accurate way of knowing, you can also use a conductor to check for a charge too. We use a conductor on all of our shungite that arrives from Russia to test for authenticity.
